Concept Statement:
Peter/Wendy not only takes the age-old story of Peter pan and strips it down to its bare elements, but it focuses on more than just living forever in youth. It addresses all age groups, with a moral story that hits everyone in the audience.
For the music for this production, I wanted something light and airy for Peter and Wendy to contrast deep, cello lines for the pirates. The lost boys had a slow, rambling line until Peter arrives because Neverland isn't Neverland without Peter around.
28 original pieces were composed for this production, and a live orchestral bell was used for Tinkerbell's "language".

Happy Thoughts - Opening Build
The Opening of the show had cast members in the house with small finger lights. Intermittently, the cast would flash their finger light and say a "happy thought" like pudding or recess or family. Their happy thoughts would come more and more frequently until Wendy's opening declaration of "You won't forget me Peter, Will you?"

I spoke with the director about a slow build that would span the whole opening (roughly a minute and a half) that would support the natural build of the happy thoughts. Above is a small sample that served as our rough draft. The Bottom is the final track in its entirety.
